1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo?
My hubby has aquired a Jeep that was thought to be in good shape but I fear that it is not. The front end was shaking @ high speeds and they replaced the traction bar, rotated the tires and aligned the front end. Didn't help. Now the part time light for the 4WD is going on and off and the 4WD doesn't even work (or we can't get it to). Can anyone give me some suggestions of what it could be? I am taking it back in on Monday and they will look at it for free unless they have to start tearing it apart to find the problem. I just wanna know what I might be getting into. Thank in advance for your help!!!

i own a repair shop, and a bad idle arm or a warped axle will cause the vibration on it as far as the 4 wheel drive this can be a linkage rod out of adjustment or a loose vacuum hose ,if it has the owners manual with it ,look in it this might explain how to get the 4 wheel drive working on it ,other wise you may have to wait until you get it checked, there's actual about 25 things that could cause either of these problems, and its impossible to cover all of them on here, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Stick a fork in it 'cause it's done! The fact that this thing even starts and runs is a shear miracle. Seriously, these Jeeps were not made to last that long. 10 years old is considered the absolute limit. Would you take a 25 year old cat to the vet? Sound like your husband has his new hobby!
