i have a 01 jeep ch. laredo 6 cyl. that loses oil pressure when truck is still ideling?
I have a 01 jeep ch. laredo, 6 cyc. i purchased it new at the end of 00. my truck has 220000 miles and only 15000 is on the new engine i put in 1 year ago. i have also replaced the radiator, cooling fan and relay. I have had no problemsa at all. I continue to get the oil changed every 3000 to 4000 miles for it is a work truck and i travel 140 miles 5 days a week for work roundtrip. Well, last week i took it for the oil change and was told the transmission and anti-freeze were leaking and to have it repaired, so i planned to do that but on my way home from work 3 days after this finding, my truck started losing oil pressure when i come to a stop, but when i press the gas to go the gauge returns to normal pressure. the place that changed my oil was out of oil for high milage and they did a basic oil change with qstate 5w30. could i be losing my pressure because the oil is to light for the milage? what does oil leak p.t.s. mean? the oil pressure drops to zero when the car is stopped

The oil pressure will drop some when the RPMs are lower. I had a 97 Cherokee and it did the same exact thing. Keep in mind that I do not mean that it should be dropping down to zero if that is the case. The oil pressure switch is very close to the oil filter on some of the 4.0L engines. Jeep did a redesign and moved it a little more out of the way, but it is still very easy to damage if the person doing the oil change isn't paying attention when removing the filter. In short: if the pressure drops slightly its normal, if it drops to zero get it checked.
