Your thermostat is likely stuck in the open position. A gentle tap on the housing area may jolt it back to life.

Oh my god these people should not be answering questions, didn"t hit your thermostat it wont JOLT it back in to place, there are a couple of possibilities, yes a defective thermostat could be the problem, if so it must be replaced not hit to JOLT it back. also the heater core could be plugged and the coolant is not flowing into the car properly. It could be just low on coolant, however if it low on coolant there is a reason, there is a leak somewhere. The last thing is your mode doors that open and close in your heater box might not be functioning properly and wont open the door to allow heat in. Where to start, check the coolant level first, if its low fill it with a 50/50 antifreeze mix and look for leak. If not check the temp of the coolant, also grab the heater hoses that go In the the car through the firewall be careful not to burn yourself these could be 230 degrees, grab the upper and then grab the lower if there is a significant difference in temp the heater core is plugged, if not and they are 200 degrees then your thermostat is probably ok also and you have a condition with the doors inside.

it could be a couple of reasons like the heater core is clogged up or the thermostat is stuck open.
